Mental Ward Tactical Assessment Guide- Morgue-Attack2
Once inside phase two of the attack must be immediately implemented. Attackers who enter must immediate go to strong positions. They can hope that their entrance was not noticed, or that the defense has no set plan or communication skills. If such is the case, the attackers can gain great advantages in those first moments. If the frontal assault was the primary assault, relieving the outside attackers (and thus allowing more to enter) is the foremost concern. This means immediately running to #1 stairway and coming up into the 2nd floor front room. If two attackers are in, the second should immediately go up the #2 stairway to put pressure on the back room and potentially the back staircase defender. If on the outside you see one or two players enter, you should expect that they will relieve the pressure from the front by either eliminating the front room defenders or by drawing them away from the front room. Moving in quickly will give the defenders less time to set into their phase two planning, and bring the numbers of the attackers closer to equal, if not better than equal. Within moments of an entry, attackers in front should begin moving into the building and immediately moving to #3 and #4 stairways, and #2 if it hasn't been secured. Everything done in the building is Gun-Ready. Have it shouldered and ready to shoot, just try not to friendly fire too many of your own guys! If you're the first one in, you can immediately attack the #1 stairway to draw off or eliminate front room defenders. This stairway is a look and listen stairway. Coming from below means you cast a shadow before actually entering, which can tip off a defender, so the look has to be fast and ready for immediate withdrawal. If you gain access into the stairway, keep your ears open for movement above and you should move up the stairway quickly and as quietly as possible. Gun ready is vital and anyone you see coming into your target window at this point of the assault will be the Opposition. If you hear gunfire in the front room you may be fairly certain that your entry was undetected and you can come up and clear the front room easily. If there is no gunfire, it's likely that they have cleared out of the room and are taking up defensive positions, one of which may be the very stairway you are climbing up into! If the rest of the attackers are taking this moment to move into the building, the first attackers in should have established footholds into the second floor by going up either the #1 or #2 stairways. My preferences is to go up #1 shoot out the front room, move back down and take #2 and shoot out the backroom. If there's a second player in with me, I prefer to send one up #1 and one up #2, then the number #1 player swing back down to #3 to make sure the defender doesn't come down. Perhaps it's more appropriate for the second player to go to #3 as he may have a better idea of what's going on with a defender who may be in the backroom or may be moving out of the backroom into #3 to take up defensive positions in the stairway itself. #4 is a good stairway to secure because it is defensively the safest to retain. Provided no defender is already holding the inside of the stairway as far down as the landing. If an attacker arrives there, he can keep a loose eye on the far end of the 1st floor (heedful of a defender coming down #3,) and he can keep his ear wide open for movement from above. If the defenders are taking or you think they'll take, an aggressive second phase and come down to evict the attackers, then holding #4 can be an anchor to the attackers hold on the floor. These are tactical considerations that attackers should decide upon beforehand. Those following should know that they must quickly occupy the different stairways, and that it must be done quickly, yet not foolhardily. If #1 hasn't been secured, it is a danger to the attackers moving in on the right side. If #2 isn't secured it's a beautiful stairway to come down. If #3 isn't secured the defenders have access to the basement floor and can from there infiltrate and backdoor any attack. #4 is less a threat as access to the Basement, because the stairs going down from the first floor are cluttered, passable but with extreme caution. Thus such a defender may well find himself only partway down when the attackers come to secure this stairway. It is however the first place to check when entering this stairway. If you as an attacking force secure the first floor quickly, and organize for the upward attack quickly, the game will proceed much faster and the defense will have that much less time to organize itself. A Zonal attack wherein each player is given an area to secure, preferably with assistance from a wingman, may be a good way to organize the forces going in. Rovers who would fill any gaps in the attack should be well aware of the overall interior attack plan. |
